Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I share my experiences in the outdoors and maybe some knowledge along the way.

Elmer Fudd Disarmed

“Looney Tunes drops Elmer Fudd’s gun, replaces it with a sickle, and ends gun violence for the new generation. In other new sickle, attacks have risen to record level numbers.” Future headline or mocking joke only time will tell. As HBO re-ups the classic cartoon series Looney Tunes, they take the opportunity to virtue signal over gun violence. Dropping Elmer Fudd’s shotgun and giving him a sickle to chase bugs bunny through the woods with. Outside of the obvious of running with shop objects is a poor message to show kids how do I feel.

My first reaction was, probably what most people reading this are thinking, “wow, this is dumb.” Mainly because this is clearly just more Hollywood virtue signaling to an online mob that hates guns and the second amendment. They are working for bonus points, and for some reason, a sickle is more virtuous than a shotgun. A move that is not surprising but verging on parody

. My second reaction is as a hunter, making Elmer look less like a guy you would see in the woods and more like a grim reaper wielding psychopath will be good for hunters. Instead of painting hunters, as goofballs wandering carelessly through the woods with guns, it’s something completely different. Also, as far as cartoon goes, for me, chasing with a rabbit with a sickle is much more amusing.

However, it does bring up a few questions. The first one being will the Fudds in the gun community now recommend that we just need a sickle to defend ourselves. That not only are AR15s too much, but now shotguns are. Will Joe Biden now recommend randomly swinging a sickle through your darks house during a home invasion instead of unloading both barrels of your gun into the dark. Most importantly, will Elmer get to use the sickle in Space Jam 2? a movie he will, without a doubt, be starting in with another virtuous human being, Lebron James. Only time will tell.

Overall, its cartoon that used to make fun of hunters that now looks less like a hunter and more like the grim reaper. It does not surprise me that Hollywood took away Elmer’s shotgun. They would take everyone’s if they could. Lastly, it does not bother me either. It makes for a fun thing to write about, but in the end, he is a cartoon character, and for some reason, the image of this bald little guy running through the woods with a sickle makes me laugh.
